- You will give up
- There is no structured education and training set up in your MLM
- It’s easier to nail jello to a wall, than it is to get guidance or the attention of your upline
- You are not passionate about the product you are marketing
- You will give up

I totally agree with your 5 points above … either way.
One more thing I would like to add …
You have to be plugged in to your upline and the training. Because, even if your upline is in constant contact with you and the training provided is excellent, if you don’t show up … you’ll still fail.
You have to have a strong desire to succeed. Your upline can’t make you and the training can’t make you. You need to use the tools provided and you have to WANT it.

Anne, you make some excellent points about why people fail. Although it is something you have to do yourself because no one is going to do it for you, you must have the support and guidance of a strong upline and a product you totally believe in!

I loved the jello nailing analogy; too often that is way too true. “I quit” is undoubtedly the biggest dream killer, and frequently comes about because of one of the other reasons you mention. Great article and thanks for the humor.

It’s not that everyone sucks in the beginning, people just need to realize even when you are following a solid concrete and proven plan it still takes time.
the problem is like you say, they give up.. People give up way to soon, even if they are on the right track.
People need to start thinking long term, and start practicing “delayed Gratification”

I think folks don’t realize building a network marketing business takes time. It’s not a get rich quick business and that network marketing does indeed involve work.

I enjoyed your post Anne. Thank you. I think too many people start this kind of business expecting results too quickly which is why they give up when they don’t get “microwave results”.
I actually no longer take on team members who have a “desperate financial situation” because from experience this industry doers not provide a viable solution to their problems. I would much rather have the person who understands that it will take time, maybe a lot of time.
