Are you still trying to sell your prospects on your Network Marketing Company’s product? If so, it’s time you knew the Dirty Truth about Network Marketing if you’re ever going to successfully recruit for your Network Marketing Business.
On the surface, network marketing companies appear to be thriving communities of customers all pretty happy with the product they are marketing and consuming and they probably really are. The truth is…what actually drives that community of thriving consumers has absolutely nothing to do with the network marketing company’s product itself.
Let’s think about that statement for a minute.
Now let me ask you a question:
Why did you decide to join a network marketing company?
I’m not a psychic, but I already know your answer. I guarantee your answer is somewhere along these lines:
“Well Anne, I started my network marketing business because I wanted to make some extra money and maybe someday become financially free.”
Am I right?
Now let me ask you another question…
When you prospect and talk to your leads about your network marketing business what do you talk to them about?
Most likely you try to sell your prospect on your “just released” Ninja juice, turbo vitamins, phone cards, travel club, laundry soap…whatever your company product is. After that you’ll explain the compensation plan, company services, blah blah blah. You end up losing control of the conversation and by the end of your chit chat, your prospect is so thoroughly confused, they say No to joining your business.
Sound familiar? Doesn’t work so well does it?
“No Anne…It doesn’t work. How did you know?”
“Been there…done that, my friend.”
Here’s the reason why that garbage doesn’t fly…
The company product is an added benefit BUT:
Successful Network Marketing has NOTHING to do with selling your prospect on your product at all. To the contrary, the only thing you should ever talk to your prospect about is the exact same thing that sold you on joining a network marketing business…
Personal and Financial Freedom!
Network marketing is built on financial hopes and dreams. Honestly, if you are looking for business builders to recruit into your network marketing organization, your prospects hopes and dreams of financial success and security are the only thing you should speak to them about.
Let me ask you this…
If I had equal amounts of a company product in one hand and money in the other hand, which would you chose?
Of coarse you would chose the money…
So the next time you’re out prospecting for your network marketing business, forget about trying to sell your company’s product. Start selling your prospects on the same reason you were attracted to the network marketing industry…to create a life filled with personal and financial freedom.
To Your Success,

Anne Theriault

Hi Anne,
Now, where have I heard that before??
You are right though. The company or the product has nothing to do with it. We aren’t selling a product or a business opportunity …. what we are selling is a lifestyle!
Cheers and have a great night!
Ilka
Hi Ilka,
Selling a lifestyle…that’s a great way to put it! For those who have the vision and believe in themselves, that’s exactly what network marketing can be for them.
Nice to see you again. Have a great day.
Anne
I think that you are totally right, but it does not paint a very rosie picture for the MLM industry. Eventually someone will have to buy the Ninja Juice or it will be just an endless stream of biz-op seekers that keep marketing to each other.

The Underdog Millionaire
Hi Joshua,
I agree with you…someone will have to buy the “Ninja Juice.” I feel the product is just an added bonus to becoming part of a network marketing opportunity. The primary reason remains, the real business builders will be more focused on the ultimate goal of achieving personal and financial freedom.
Thanks for your input. I appreciate it…
Have a great day!

I have to agree with Joshua. No money is made until something is sold. It’s like the credit industry giving loans to everyone with a pulse, and half of those weren’t paying the money back. Finally something had to give. And it was the banks, not the people.
Selling the lifestyle is the easiest way to build a team, but there should be something dedicated to moving product.
I like this post, and think it is great grounds for debate. You are totally right for the easiest way to make money. But also, if everyone took that route the company would shut the doors.
Hi Chris,
This is a great topic for debate…and you and Joshua both make valid points. I just feel I have had better luck with selling the lifestyle first and foremost. The product is also a part of the business opportunity, but I never lead with it.
It’s great to see you again. Have a wonderful day.
Anne
Join me in having financial and time freedom. No better selling point than that. The rest is just fluff.
Dwayne
Hi Dwayne,
“Just fluff” good one, and that is basically what it all boils down to. Thanks for coming by. I appreciate it!
Have a great day.
